Pep Guardiola is very keen to bring midfielders to Manchester City this summer.
The Premier League giants have struggled throughout the 2024/25 campaign, and a key reason for this was the Manchester club resting on their laurels last summer after winning their fourth Premier League title in a row and not revamping their midfield.
Change is coming this summer as Kevin De Bruyne’s 10-year Man City career will come to an end, while Guardiola is also open to letting Ilkay Gundogan leave the Etihad Stadium.
Florian Wirtz is Man City’s top target, but the Manchester club have others, and Erling Haaland has now admitted that he is a fan of one of Guardiola’s ‘amazing’ targets.

Erling Haaland is a fan of Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze
Man City showed interest in Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze last summer, however, Guardiola rejected the chance to sign the midfielder as he already had options in the positions the Eagles star likes to play in.
It has been reported this week that Man City are still keen on Eze and that the Manchester club could look to activate the £60m release clause in his current contract should they miss out on Wirtz.

Man City face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final on Saturday, and ahead of the contest, Haaland has admitted that he is a big fan of the Eagles midfielder.
“I think they are really good. When you are in the FA Cup Final, you are doing something right and winning games in a row, which isn’t easy,” Haaland said about Palace to ManCity.com.
“They are a solid team and a difficult one to play against with good individual quality. They have lots of good players so it’s going to be a difficult game. Eze is an amazing player, and I really like him. I like the centre-backs as well, their defence is really good.”
It remains to be seen if City make a move for Eze over the coming weeks, but another man who has impressed the Norwegian is Guardiola, due to his incredible record at Wembley.

Erling Haaland impressed with Pep Guardiola’s Wembley record
Since Guardiola’s arrival in 2016, Man City have played at Wembley more than any other club in England, visiting the home of English football an impressive 20 times.
The Spanish coach’s record consists of 13 wins and seven defeats, and should he win the FA Cup on Saturday, Guardiola will become just the second manager to win both domestic English cups at least three times, with only Sir Alex Ferguson doing so previously.
Haaland has admitted that he is impressed with the record his Man City manager has, as it is not an easy thing to achieve.
“It’s really impressive to see how many times Pep has taken City to Wembley – it’s a difficult thing to do,” the striker stated. “To be here for the third time in a row is amazing, and hopefully we can win it again
“I’ve watched many finals, but I’ve been to Wembley as a supporter of City, and I’ve won it as well. It’s really special to go to Wembley. You always know it’s a big game when you play at Wembley.”
