Report: Besiktas now in talks to sign 'brilliant' Everton player for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Everton are set to see a number of players leave the club over the coming months.

David Moyes will have a core group of players who he will be keen to stick around on Merseyside, though.

It has been a turbulent campaign for Everton but there have been plenty of positives to take from Moyes’ time back at the club.

Despite this, Everton are set for an ‘unprecedented’ summer transfer window with a lot of work needing to be done ahead of the new season.

Players will depart and new additions will be targeted, but there are some players who have actually impressed at Goodison Park this season.

And one of those players is now said to be in talks with Besiktas over a potential summer move.

Besiktas open talks with Everton striker Beto

Beto scored again at the weekend against Fulham with the 26-year-old netting his tenth of the campaign.

In the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Beto has really stepped up and confirmed his spot in the starting XI under Moyes.

It is believed their manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is a big admirer of the Everton man who has impressed hugely since the turn of the year.

A move for Beto would initially be on a loan basis with the Turkish giants looking for an option to buy included in the deal.

The ‘brilliant’ Beto was strongly linked with a January exit from Everton with Serie A clubs showing a real interest in his signature.

But the second half of the 2024/25 campaign has been transformative for his reputation on Merseyside, which could prove huge in any decision on his future.

Everton must keep Beto this summer

Moyes has been really impressed with Beto since he made his return to Merseyside in January.

The striker has certainly capitalised on the opportunity provided to him following Calvert-Lewin’s injury against Brighton & Hove Albion.

It is believed Calvert-Lewin has a contract offer on the table at Everton but this should not affect Beto’s future.

He has earned the right to remain Everton’s starting striker heading into the summer.

Everton are keen to sign a new striker, but the spot up top should now be Beto’s to lose following a seriously impressive second half of the season.
