Manchester United might have a gigantic Europa League final to get through but the summer transfer window preparations have begun and one target of theirs has already confirmed his departure.
After securing the signing of Enzo Kana-Biyik and progressing in Matheus Cunha talks, Man Utd will need to pivot for a striker next.
Cunha can play that role but he’s perfect for the No. 10 position, while Kana-Biyik won’t have an instant impact at Man Utd due to his age and rawness.
Fortunately, a striker target has just confirmed his departure from his current club in a heartfelt message and it could be the moment for United to strike.

Jonathan David sends transfer message
Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen have dominated the striker discussions at Old Trafford and they both have their pros and cons.
While Delap is unpolished compared to Osimhen, he’ll cost less and can potentially get to the Nigerian’s level if things break right.
Osimhen, on the other hand, is the most proven striker available on the market but the financial package will probably rule out most teams.
Jonathan David sits at the sweet spot between the two, more proven than Delap in a top-five league with Lille, and now a free transfer after confirming his departure from the Ligue 1 club.

In a heartfelt message to the club and its fans, David said goodbye and reminisced about the trophies he won in France.
He said: “I wanted to tell you myself that after many years at the club, it’s time for me to say goodbye. I’ve had five wonderful seasons here. I know it hasn’t always been easy but I hope that with my goals and my celebrations, I’ve managed to bring you some joy. Notably the French championship and the League Champions trophy…”
Man Utd should explore Jonathan David transfer terms
United’s interest in David is longstanding but it has cooled down a bit recently as they pivoted towards Delap and Osimhen the most.
However, now that David’s departure is confirmed, they would be missing a huge trick if they didn’t at least explore the terms of a potential deal.
David can play behind the striker and is a natural No. 9, while his free transfer means even his wages and financial package won’t cost as much as Delap, let alone Osimhen.
Furthermore, he’s proven in a top-five league and at just 25, is at the perfect age to balance experience with the potential to improve further.
This has the look of Joshua Zirkzee’s transfer last summer where interest developed quickly due to the presence of a release clause. David’s potential move won’t even have that hurdle.
