Juventus chief executive Maurizio Scanavino has confirmed that Francesco Calvo has 'expressed a desire' to take up a new challenge elsewhere as the football season draws to a close. It's been widely reported that Calvo is expected at Aston Villa to take up the role which is being vacated by Chris Heck at the campaign's end.

Calvo, who previously worked with Villa's president of football operations Monchi at Roma, has also previously worked at Barcelona and is reportedly set to make the move to England with Villa, who are likely to offer him a salary rise.

Juve have now confirmed that Salvo has indeed requested permission to explore an opportunity which has been presented to him and a meeting has been arranged for the Serie A side's hierarchy to sit down and discuss how best to move forwards from here.
