Yesterday, it was confirmed that Eddie Howe is one of the five managers on the Premier League's shortlist for Manager of the Season.
After winning the Carabao Cup and being within touching distance of reaching the Champions League, going on a run of nine straight wins, having a spell away from the game with pneumonia and still coming back to revitalise the team, Eddie Howe has earned that nomination. (Vote here if you haven't already.)
Newcastle got off to a shaky start this season, but that seems like such a long time ago now after everything Eddie Howe and his players and staff have achieved this season.
The job isn't done yet, but Howe has more than earned his place in the Manager of the Season conversation, even if we all know it's going to go to Arne Slot for winning the Premier League title with Liverpool in his first season in England.

Eddie Howe was quick to mention Alexander Isak's nomination when asked about his own
Eddie Howe was, of course, asked how he feels about his nomination in Friday morning's pre-match press conference, but Howe, humble as ever, was quick to point the finger of praise elsewhere.
"I always think it's nice to be nominated for different things because ultimately it hopefully means you've had a successful season so I'm proud to be on that list. I'm also proud for Alex [on his Player of the Season nomination], I think he thoroughly deserves it."
Alexander Isak was nominated for Player of the Season for the second campaign in a row, but again, we can't help but feel this one is going to Liverpool. Still worth a vote, though.

Humble Howe refuses to take full credit for individual achievements
Eddie Howe is always humble and seems reluctant to accept any form of individual praise. Even going as far as to stand at the back of the post-win team photos.
The first time he picked up Manager of the Month at Newcastle, he made sure he shared it with his staff, acknowledging he's just one cog in a well-oiled machine.
Should the Toon Army work their magic and vote so much that they can't be ignored and Howe picks up the award, it will be interesting to see if he repeats that same gesture.
