Leicester’s plan revealed for Jamie Vardy’s final home game as his 13-year stint at the club comes to a close.
Vardy isn’t a player who is going to leave his precious Leicester quietly, given Sunday will be his 500th game.
This statistic has added to why Jamie Vardy’s final Leicester City appearance will be this weekend.
Instrumental to Leicester City‘s Championship victory in 2013-14, Vardy then launched an unforgettable 2015-16 Premier League season.
This was a campaign where he didn’t just score goals; he broke records, including that of his current manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy, by finding the net in eleven consecutive matches.

His impressive performances also saw him bring home individual accolades, being crowned both the Premier League Player of the Season and the FWA Footballer of the Year as Leicester City famously defied all expectations to lift the Premier League title.
His touch in front of goal continued to shine, culminating in him becoming the oldest-ever Premier League Golden Boot winner in the 2019-20 season.
And now he could reach a momentous milestone in his last home game for Leicester before departing at the end of the season.
Leicester’s plan to help Jamie Vardy reach career milestone
Jamie Vardy stands on the verge of a significant milestone this Sunday, potentially netting his 200th goal for Leicester. This possibility was a point of discussion for Ruud van Nistelrooy ahead of their match against Ipswich Town.
“There’s many dates and numbers coming together, but the way I know him he’ll come in and do his best to try and win the game,” the Leicester manager told BBC Sport.
“That’s what he’ll think about, that’s his aim. If that comes with a goal for him, or an assist, that’s how he’ll think.”

Van Nistelrooy also spoke about his working relationship with Vardy and what that has meant to him during his time at the club.
“He’s been a great captain, supportive since my arrival,” he said.
“For the 6 months we’ve been working together it’s been tough, been rough. But he’s always been a great leader, wanting to impress and take responsibility. So he’s the captain that you want.”
Jamie Vardy’s future beyond the King Power Stadium
When players like Vardy leave their club after such a considerable amount of time, it’s hard to imagine them donning another team’s shirt.
But Vardy isn’t done yet, and his next destination is one hot topic.
He told Sky Sports: “Football is a crazy world. You never know what’s going to happen. I’ll keep going until my legs tell me I need to stop. My legs are fine.”
We had previously broken the news that Vardy was open to joining Sheffield Wednesday this summer before reports indicated he was eager to remain in the Premier League.
And our transfer expert, Graeme Bailey, revealed that Vardy’s dream return to Hillsborough is not completely off the table.

Bailey said: “We’ll see what happens with Vardy. I still think there’s a massive chance he ends up at Sheffield Wednesday.
“His people are pushing him to the Premier League. But you can push him all you want, but it’s pretty perfect for him to go to Sheffield Wednesday.
But what’s next for Vardy in terms of actually making his decision?

“He’ll assess his options,” Bailey said.
“I think he’ll come to the reasoning that, if he gets a two-year deal out of Sheffield Wednesday, or an option where, if he plays ten games or whatever, he gets another year, I still think there’s a real chance he ends up there. I do.
“He’s not getting first-team football off anyone. The one promoted team who would probably offer that to him is the one team he can’t join: Sheffield United.”
