Ipswich Town forward Nathan Broadhead will return to the squad for Sunday's Premier League game at Leicester City.
The Welshman has been sidelined for the last four matches with a thigh problem.
"Nathan Broadhead is back training with us, which has been a positive this week," revealed McKenna, speaking at this afternoon's pre-match press conference.
"Other than that, the group's still pretty similar to where it was last week."
That means that Aro Muric (shoulder), Conor Townsend (hamstring), Kalvin Phillips (Achilles), Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles), Wes Burns (knee), Jaden Philogene (knee) and Sammie Szmodics (ankle) all remain sidelined, though Leif Davis is available again after serving a three-game ban.
On Szmodics, who was included in the latest Republic of Ireland squad this week, and Townsend, who has missed the last four, McKenna said: "They're getting closer, but not available this weekend."
McKenna added that it's 'unlikely' Man City loanee Phillips will feature again this season.
On fellow midfielder Jens Cajuste, who has only been deemed fit enough for the bench over the last three matches, McKenna said: "He's had a challenging couple of weeks really with his injury (knee). I have to say he's done really well to be available for the bench.
"He hasn't really been at the level to train and certainly not been in a good condition to start. But he always wants to put himself up there on match day to help the team if it's possible.
"He's had a better week and is in a better place. We'll have a decision to make going into the weekend, but we're hopeful that we'll be able to see him in some minutes over the next two games."
