Man United, Man City 'handed boost' in Eberechi Eze pursuit ahead of FA Cup final appearance

Crystal Palace are reportedly prepared to accept offers below the release clause of Eberechi Eze.

The 26-year-old is supposedly wanted by Manchester City and Manchester United, with the pair looking to bolster their attacking ranks ahead of the new term.

The Red Devils will need to make room in their squad for the possible arrival of Eze, who could pass the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund at the door.

The 10-time England international has enjoyed a productive spell in recent weeks, scoring five goals across four matches, including a brace versus Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Eze could write his name into Crystal Palace legend on Saturday afternoon, when the Eagles face Pep Guardiola's Citizens in the FA Cup final.

Man United, Man City handed Eze boost?

According to Football Insider, Manchester United and Manchester City have been handed a significant boost in the hunt for Eze's services this summer.

The report claims that Oliver Glasner's men could accept offers less than the £68m release clause of the attacker during the upcoming window.

It is understood that Palace were surprised by the lack of interest last summer for Eze, who is becoming a key player on the international scene for England.

It is believed that the London club will not stand in the way of the 26-year-old should he decide that he wants to move from Selhurst Park.

As well as clubs on the red and blue sides of Manchester, Ange Postecoglou's Spurs have also been credited with an interest in Eze ahead of the trading point.

Eze's next step

With the 2026 World Cup just over a year away, Eze needs to move to a top-tier Premier League club in order to cement his place in Thomas Tuchel's plans.

The German manager will want players who are used to the big occasions, with those types of matches few and far between for Palace, despite an FA Cup final being on the horizon this weekend.

Eze certainly has the talent to leave the Eagles' nest and stake a claim for a starting spot alongside the likes of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham next summer.
