The Jeremy Frimpong saga is set to come to a close very soon with Liverpool closing in on the deal.

The Liverpool squad has returned to Merseyside on Friday, concluding their week-long Dubai retreat organized by players to celebrate their Premier League title and bid farewell to Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of his Real Madrid move – as we exclusively revealed.

Meanwhile, manager Arne Slot returned from Ibiza, where he celebrated at Wayne Lineker’s O Beach club with staff, including assistant John Heitinga.

Both squad and manager regrouped at the AXA Training Centre to prepare to face Brighton on Monday.

And while the playing staff and Arne Slot’s coaches were off, the Dutch manager was keeping tabs on Liverpool’s transfer plans.

DAVEOCKOP can now reveal that Arne Slot has had talks with Jeremie Frimpong today ahead of the final stages of the transfer.

A contract until 2030 is at the final stages of being ironed out with the Dutch international expected to make the move imminently.

The €35 million clause represents significant value for a player of Frimpong’s caliber, particularly given his homegrown status from his Manchester City academy years.

We exclusively revealed that the release clause is split into four instalments.

This flexibility allows the club to allocate resources elsewhere, particularly with a centre-back and forward positions also a priority this summer.

This eases Liverpool’s squad registration compliance, especially with Caoimhin Kelleher and Tyler Morton likely departing in the summer.

Celtic, Frimpong’s former club, will receive a 30% sell-on fee, but Liverpool’s upfront costs remain manageable.

The transfer’s timing allows Slot to integrate Frimpong during preseason.

Arne Slot’s men will be travelling to Japan and Hong Kong in July, and the Reds boss wants Frimpong on the plane.
