Tanned, relaxed and all smiles, the demeanour of Arne Slot was very much that of someone refreshed and ready for the new season. And while two games remain of this title-winning campaign, such an assessment isn't far from the truth.
With the Premier League having long been secured - all that remains is for Virgil van Dijk to hold the trophy aloft at a buoyant Anfield next weekend - focus has already shifted to next term.
That much was evident on social media this week, with clips of Slot celebrating in Ibiza with, among others, actor Dean Gaffney and Gary Lineker's brother Wayne, while many of his squad were sunning themselves in Dubai.
Since mathematically securing a 20th championship, the Reds have lost at Chelsea and drawn at home to Arsenal. And with the job done, Slot admits it is proving harder to fully motivate his players for the remaining games at Brighton on Monday and home against Crystal Palace six days later.
"I think the honest answer is yes," he says, speaking at the AXA Training Centre on Friday afternoon. "Although I can't look in all their heads, it's clear to everyone that if you were still competing for the Premier League then there would have been a few days off but we probably wouldn't have gone somewhere else.
"There is a difference but if I look at the way we played the Arsenal game, I saw a team who wanted to compete from the first second until the last, even when we had some problems in the second half.
"It doesn't matter that we've won the league, if you play Chelsea away, Arsenal home and Brighton away these are difficult games to play. That's why I was so happy we were already enough points clear to have clinched the title."
Liverpool were given four days off this week before reconvening at the AXA Training Centre on Friday to start preparations for Monday's South Coast date.
And Slot says: "If you want to go after the season, wives, girlfriends, children are like 'come on I haven't seen my dad for such a long time, let's go on a family holiday'. We had a great position of having won it early on, then we played on Sunday and the next game Monday. If we hadn't already won it, they wouldn't have had four days off but they would have had two or three.
"Keep in mind, these players never had a few days off during the season because we were in the FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League for a long time. When other teams had days off, we hardly ever had that."
While there has been no extensive scrutiny of Liverpool's in-season celebrations, Slot admits that may not remain the case if his team deliver a poor performance at a Brighton team who are still fighting for European qualification.
"If we aren't able to get a result, for me it will have nothing to do with players having a few days off, but that will probably be the story in the media," he adds. "In Holland it would definitely be the story in the media!
"We felt it (the break) was a good way of preparing ourselves for the game on Monday. The boys deserved it."
Not that Slot didn't have his mind on how best to improve Liverpool in the coming weeks and months while taking in some rays in the Mediterranean.
"Did you see me this week on social media?!?" he laughs. "But even if you are celebrating over there, it doesn't mean the whole day you aren't thinking about something else.
"But a larger part of my mind now is already into next season, than it would have been had the next two games still been decisive for us. It's a normal situation.
"That's even more of a challenge for the players on Monday because maybe their thoughts are already on playing for the national team when their games are even more important than the next two weeks, although I'm told Palace at home will be one to look forward to.
"You think about the new season more, you have more meetings now than you would have had when it was even more important to win a game than it is now."
