The 2024-25 Ligue 1 season saw Paris Saint-Germain romp to the title yet again, with several members of Luis Enrique’s squad catching the eye in particular.

However, a number of other stars have also performed immensely well this campaign, despite not helping their team to league glory.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through our Ligue 1 Team of the Season.

GK: Djordje Petrovic (Strasbourg)

Djordje Petrovic was forced to leave Chelsea on loan last summer, but he may have worked his way back into the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge thanks to his form for Strasbourg.

The Serbia goalkeeper is a leader in a number of key statistics, including save percentage, while he boasts an impressive 10 clean sheets for Racing.

RB: Achraf Hakimi (PSG)

By rights, Achraf Hakimi deserves to be a Ballon d’Or contender for his outstanding contribution to both PSG’s attack and defence throughout this season.

He has four goals and six assists in Ligue 1, and he has played a key role in Luis Enrique’s all-conquering side.

CB: Willian Pacho (PSG)

William Pacho has been a terrific recruit who has elevated the level of the PSG defence to allow them to compete with the best in Europe.

The Ecuadorian has been a revolutionary addition and he has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in world football this campaign, which has helped PSG’s backline concede the fewest goals in Ligue 1.

CB: Jubal (Auxerre)

Jubal is not a player who will win too many headlines, but he has a phenomenal record when it comes to making tackles, blocks and clearances.

With six goals, he has also contributed impressively for a centre-back, and he has helped Auxerre achieve survival with ease following their promotion from Ligue 2.

LB: Nuno Mendes (PSG)

Nuno Mendes is arguably the best left-back in the world currently and he has been tireless in Ligue 1 for PSG.

His goalscoring prowess has been more evident in the Champions League, but Mendes has still been exceptional in the French top flight and is the clear pick for the left-back role.

CM: Joao Neves (PSG)

Joao Neves could lay claim to having been the best signing of the season anywhere in Europe as he has provided PSG with stability but also a surprising attacking threat from midfield.

He has instantly settled in as a key figure at the Parc des Princes and he will end the season as one of the most prolific assist providers in Ligue 1 with eight.

CM: Vitinha (PSG)

Vitinha has slipped under the radar just a little due to Neves’ performances but he offers strong balance alongside his compatriot and he has been exceptional this term.

PSG’s midfield trio have provided the platform for their Ligue 1 triumph and Vitinha has kept them ticking in the middle of the park.

CM: Andrey Santos (Strasbourg)

Andrey Santos has been branded ‘the best player in the world’ by team-mates" href="https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2025/03/chelsea-transfer-news-andrey-santos-fabrizio-romano" target="_blank">‘the best player in the world’ by team-mates and while that may be an exaggeration, he posts incredible defensive numbers in the midfield and has offered a big contribution going forward, too.

The on-loan Chelsea star has nine goals from central midfield and he is a major contributing factor behind why Strasbourg are set to play European football next season.

RW: Rayan Cherki (Lyon)

A magician with the ball, Rayan Cherki has been one of Ligue 1’s leading players since October, providing a decisive influence for Lyon in almost every game he has played.

The France wonderkid has eight goals and 10 assists in 21 Ligue 1 starts, and he leads the division for the highest number of passes into the penalty area (71).

ST: Ousmane Dembele (PSG)

Nobody saw this prolific season coming from Ousmane Dembele, who has become a leading candidate to win the Ballon d’Or thanks to his rain of goals. An incredible redemption arc that has been brought about thanks to his hard work on the training ground.

Dembele has 21 goals and six assists in Ligue 1 this term, while he has become the driving force of PSG’s immense attack.

LW: Desire Doue (PSG)

This position could really have been filled by either Desire Doue or Bradley Barcola as both have been sensational, but the imagination and flair of the teenager gets the nod.

He is one of the best players in the world to watch, and he has combined that creativity with 12 goal contributions in Ligue 1.
