Philadelphia 76ers President Daryl Morey confirmed that the team plans to use the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, calling this year’s draft class one of the best he’s seen since 2003.
With the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft secured, Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey is making it clear — the Sixers plan to keep and use the pick.

Morey joined NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Take Off Podcast just days after the draft lottery, where the Sixers landed the third overall selection behind the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks.
During the episode, host John Clark asked Morey about the plans for using the third pick of the draft.
“Yeah, our plan is to pick this pick, yeah,” Morey responded. “Yeah, I think the top few, top three, four, you could argue, five maybe. I mean there's good players in this draft.”
“The top of this draft, I think, I would say I was very fortunate to start my career in the 2003 draft. Which some argue is the best draft of all time, but I think it’s in the top five of high-quality players in the top of the draft in my career,” he added.
The 2025 draft is shaping up to be one of the most talent-heavy classes in recent memory. Cooper Flagg is the consensus No. 1 pick and won’t be on the board at No. 3. But behind him, names like Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey (both from Rutgers), and VJ Edgecombe give the Sixers high-upside options to choose from.
With the third pick, Philly will likely have a shot at whoever remains from the Harper–Bailey–Edgecombe trio — each of whom projects as a potential two-way star at the NBA level.
