Arne Slot refused to give much away when asked about Liverpool’s potential signing of Jeremie Frimpong.
The Reds have been heavily linked with the Bayer Leverkusen right-back in recent days, with reports claiming that they are ready to activate the €35million (£29.5m) release clause in his contract.
The links to the Dutchman have intensified since Trent Alexander-Arnold publicly announced that he was leaving his boyhood club, with Real Madrid his likely next destination this summer.
That has left Slot looking for a new right-sided full-back to compete with academy graduate Conor Bradley.

Bradley started ahead of the England international in the newly-crowned champions’ 2-2 draw with Arsenal last weekend, with Slot revealing that the Northern Irishman’s selection was partly down to Alexander-Arnold’s impending departure.
Alexander-Arnold was booed by sections of the home support when he came off the bench, and Virgil van Dijk said that the full-back would “have to deal” with any animosity and negativity thrown his way.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Brighton on Monday, Slot was reluctant to be drawn into any details about Frimpong’s prospective Merseyside move though admitted the club were “always looking at interesting players” who could improve his squad.

"A boring answer and for a whole season it was about contract extensions and now everyone wants to know who is coming in,” he said.
“We don't talk about it in public until we sign them and then you can ask me all about it. Conor can play [there]; Joe Gomez [too], so it is not like once Trent leaves I don't know what to do.
“But we are always looking at interesting players who can improve our squad."
Liverpool travel to the south coast for their penultimate fixture of the campaign, and they end the season at home to FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace next weekend.
Slot fell short of suggesting that Alexander-Arnold would start against Brighton, saying it was “quite early to say” what Monday’s starting lineup would be.
