Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has revealed that Jens Cajuste has had a ‘better week’ of training ahead of Sunday’s trip to Leicester City.
The Sweden international, who is on loan with the Tractor Boys from Serie A outfit Napoli, has started on the bench for each of already-relegated Ipswich’s last three Premier League games due to a knee issue.
However, while the 25-year-old has not fully recovered, McKenna is hopeful that Cajuste will be capable of featuring in the club’s final two encounters this term.

“He’s had a better week this week. He’s had a challenging couple of weeks with his injury, so I have to say he’s done really well to be available for the bench,” said McKenna.
“He hasn’t been at the level to train or certainly not been in the good condition to start, but he always wants to put himself up there on matchday to help the team if it’s possible.
“But he’s had a better week this week, he’s in a better place. He’s missed quite a lot of training over the last month but this week has been a little bit better, so we’ll have a decision to make going into the weekend but we’ll hopeful we’ll be able to see him in some minutes over the next two games.”
McKenna also confirmed that Nathan Broadhead has trained this week following a thigh problem, while left-back Leif Davis will return to the squad after serving a three-match suspension.
Kalvin Phillips, Sammie Szmodics and Conor Townsend remain sidelined.
