Beto is a man in demand ahead of the summer transfer window, with Leeds United now just one of the teams looking at the Everton forward.
Everton signed Beto in a £26million deal in 2023. The Portuguese forward has since scored 11 goals in 58 Premier League games for the club, but he’s now being linked with a move away from the club.
Leeds United have been promoted to the Premier League and the Whites have wasted no time in prepping a list of potential transfer targets, with the Premier League summer transfer window opening on June 1st.
Strikers seem to be the focus right now. Daniel Farke’s options are very thin on the ground, but Leeds United are interested in signing Beto in what could be a very interesting signing, if a bit of a gamble on a player who’s not exactly set the Premier League alight.
It was previously claimed that David Moyes wasn’t convinced by Beto. But subsequent reports have claimed that Everton want to keep Beto beyond this summer.

Besiktas set to make Beto offer amid Leeds United interest
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas have been involved in a few Leeds headlines of late. The main one being that Leeds United are keen to sign Semih Kilicsoy from the Turkish side although it looks like Solskjaer has changed his mind on that front, with the club now preferring a loan exit for the young attacker.
And in another blow to the Whites, it’s now being reported that Besiktas want Beto. Turkish outlet Sabah Sport report that Besiktas are ‘preparing to offer a loan deal with an option to buy’ Beto this summer, although the report doesn’t make any mention of a potential future price tag.
Whether or not Everton would fancy a loan exit for Beto might not become clearer until later in the summer when Moyes has done his own transfer business. But a permanent exit would give the Toffees a bit of extra spending money early doors in the summer transfer window.

Beto to Leeds United seemed like an ambitious one from the off: ambitious because Everton paid a lot for him and because the Toffees don’t exactly have hordes of quality Premier League strikers in their ranks either.
In fact, Leeds United fans aren’t impressed by Beto and they think it would be a poor signing this summer. And transfer expert Graeme Bailey has played down the chances of Leeds United signing Beto this summer anyway.
Speaking to Leeds United News recently, Bailey explained: “Beto has had a good season, remarkable considering from where he was. A lot of that is down to Moyes. I don’t believe Everton are that keen to move on from him. Everton paid a decent whack for him.
“Clearly, his people want him to play regularly. Would Leeds be interested? I don’t see why not. But I don’t see Leeds taking that risk.”
The door might well be open for Besiktas then, and it might be preferable for Everton if Beto doesn’t join a 2025/26 Premier League rival in Leeds United.
