“Over-teach everyone”- Former PL boss claims he would oputdo Ruben Amorim at dream Manchester…

Ruben Amorim hasn’t delivered the league turnaround that Manchester United fans and INEOS expected. Before his official appointment, many believed he would be the one to transform the club for the better. But that hasn’t been the case. Erik ten Hag left United in 14th place, and five months into Amorim’s reign, they now sit 16th in the Premier League. While he has been flawless in Europe, the domestic league has proven a far more difficult challenge. With pressure mounting, one former manager has already claimed he would be doing a better job.

Ruben Amorim has managed just six wins in his first 25 Premier League games, falling short of the expectations set by Manchester United fans.

Still, much of the fanbase understands the context. United have clearly prioritised the Europa League under Amorim, while the manager has had to cope with an imbalanced squad and persistent injury issues. Despite that, former Everton and Burnley boss Sean Dyche has claimed he would be delivering better results if he were in charge at Old Trafford.

Sean Dyche claims he could outdo Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

Sean Dyche does not believe in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system

In an appearance on The Overlap, Sean Dyche expressed his long-standing desire to manage Manchester United, citing the magnitude and global stature of the club as major attractions. He also took a swipe at Ruben Amorim, questioning the Portuguese manager’s reluctance to adapt his tactics. Dyche suggested that sticking to one style only works if results follow, and confidently claimed he’d win more matches at United by implementing a straightforward 4-4-2 system grounded in basic rules and principles.

While Dyche is talking confidently now, the reality was very different just a few months ago when Amorim’s system dismantled his side 4-0. Given that result, the so-called ‘proper Brexit coach’ might want to hold off on his bold claims.

The Former Everton coach, speaking on The Overlap, criticised Amorim and his system

“Manchester United was always the job I wanted because of the size of the club. Not just because it’s Man United, but because of the sheer grand job it is.”

“I reckon if I went there and played my way I’d win more games. I’m not just saying that, just 4-4-2. Give them basic rules and principles.

“You don’t have to over-teach everyone.”

While Dyche is entitled to his opinion, he seems to overlook the fact that Amorim is still adapting to the squad and has yet to build a team of his own. Despite that, he’s guided United to the Europa League final without suffering a single defeat. If there’s a time to judge the Portuguese coach, it will be next season, once he has a squad tailored to his vision.
