Mohamed Salah has hailed Kevin de Bruyne's Manchester City career as "phenomenal" and joked that there is a space for him in Liverpool's squad if the midfielder wants to remain in the Premier League.
The 33-year-old has won six Premier League titles and the Champions League since signing for the Blues from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg ten years ago.
But with injuries and fitness issues taking their toll on the Belgium international in recent seasons, he revealed last month that he would be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of June.
Now, ahead of his final weeks as a Manchester City player, De Bruyne's former Chelsea team-mate, Salah, has joked that there is room for the midfielder to join him at Anfield.
Speaking to Sky Sports' Gary Neville about the Belgian's Premier League career, Salah said: "I want to tell him congratulations for your career. He's done a phenomenal job at City, and he was great for the league.
"I really wish him the best...and we have a space for him!"
De Bruyne will have the chance to win a final piece of silverware with City on Saturday night when Pep Guardiola's side takes on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final.
De Bruyne has won the competition with City twice before, in 2019 and again four years later against Manchester United.
Explaining his decision to leave the club at the end of the season in a social media post last month, De Bruyne said: "Football led me to all of you - and to this city. Chasing my dream, not knowing this period would change my life. This city. This club.
"These people gave me everything. I had no choice but to give everything back. And guess what - we won everything.
"Whether we like it or not, it's time to say goodbye. Suri, Rome, Mason, Michele, and I are beyond grateful for what this place has meant for our family. Manchester will forever be on our kids' passports - and more importantly, in each of our hearts.
"This will always be our home. We cannot thank the city, club, staff, team-mates, friends, and family enough for this 10-year ride."
