Leeds United will be taking a look at West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal’s hamstring ahead of making a move, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has assessed his fitness and minutes post his hamstring setback amid links with a move to Elland Road.
The Whites are understood to have made an approach to sign the right-back this summer, per Graeme Bailey.

Coufal may have issues with his medical if the hamstring has not recovered
The 32-year-old returned from his hamstring setback in March and since then, has played the full 90 minutes once.
If the Whites are to seriously pursue his services, they will thoroughly examine his medical records and his physical condition, with his hamstring potentially being an issue.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Coufal: “Leeds will look at the state of his hamstring after recently injuring it, in addition to the normal checks.
“His game time post returning from that injury has been erratic.
“*So, there are chances of obstacles arising if something gets flagged up in the medical.*“

Leeds must avoid signing Coufal, as his age and 2024/25 season performance do not align with the club’s need for a dynamic, long-term right-back.
At 32, he is past his prime and his physical decline limits his ability to meet the demands of Daniel Farke’s high-intensity, pressing system.
This season, Coufal has struggled and he’s also not been a go-to starter under Graham Potter, reflecting diminished impact.
Signing Coufal risks short-termism, as his waning athleticism and injury concerns, as mentioned by Dr Brar, could hinder Leeds’ promotion push.
Younger, other versatile options better suit Leeds’ ambitions for sustained Premier League success.
