According to Sam Vecenie of The Athletic, while the Spurs are expected to keep the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, multiple league sources brought up Antetokounmpo as a potential trade target for San Antonio.

One Eastern Conference executive told The Athletic that pairing Giannis with Victor Wembanyama would instantly make the Spurs “the favorite to win the title next year.”

The exec emphasized how well their skillsets could fit together: “Giannis’ power in the paint and Wembanyama’s perimeter versatility” could create a dominant two-way force.

Antetokounmpo, who turns 31 in December, just wrapped up a season where he averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists on 60.1% shooting.

On the other side, Wembanyama has quickly lived up to the hype. The 21-year-old posted 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, and a league-best 3.8 blocks per game in his sophomore season.

According to The Athletic, Houston Rockets is another team monitoring Giannis’ situation if the Milwaukee Bucks become open to discussions.
