Fans around the NBA are waiting for the league's announcement regarding the winner of the Most Valuable Player award.
The Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder are in the middle of a second-round playoff matchup, with a Game 7 on the horizon to determine a series winner once and for all.
The series features Nikola Jokic -- who won the MVP trophy in three of the past four seasons -- and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
The two superstars happen to be the frontrunners to capture the award this season.
Evidently, the series poses a perfect time for the league to announce the MVP winner, assuming it'll be one of the two aforementioned players.
Still, the league has held off. Given that the two sides square off the finalize the series on Sunday afternoon, it's hard to imagine the league hands out the award at lunchtime.

Even NBA players are beginning to question when the NBA will announce the MVP winner, with Bones Hyland posing the question on X.
This led to a Ja Morant response, with the superstar guard taking a jab at the league.
"they got to see who win the series first," Morant claimed.
If Morant's claim is true, the MVP winner will be announced during the conference finals, far after the rest of the awards were announced.
While voting was finished in the regular season and the winner has already been selected, many have speculated that the league wants to see who wins the series before making the announcement.
Again, the conspiracy doesn't hold much merit since the media voted -- and their votes will be public -- before the playoffs began.
Jokic is aiming to capture the MVP title for the fourth time in five years, though voting fatigue might be at his detriment this time around.
With that in mind, it seems Gilgeous-Alexander is poised to take home the MVP trophy after leading his squad to 68 wins.
