NBA Makes Knicks Announcement After Game 6 Win Over Celtics

For the first time in a quarter-century, the New York Knicks are headed to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The historic club has suffered a 25-year drought from the conference finals, and they haven't captured a title in over 50 years.

After taking down the Boston Celtics in dominant fashion, winning 119-81 in Game 6, the Knicks are one step closer to their goal of raising the Larry O'Brien in June.

The series was headlined by many major moments, like back-to-back 20-point comebacks by the Knicks, Jayson Tatum's Achilles injury and Luke Kornet playing hero ball in Game 5.

Now, the series has wrapped up, and the NBA will see a new champion once again, as no team has repeated since the Golden State Warriors in 2018.

New York gets a breath of fresh air, too, as the NBA made a key announcement regarding their series against the Indiana Pacers.

"The @nyknicks move on to face the @Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals, which will begin on Wednesday, May 21 at 8:00 PM ET on @NBAonTNT," the NBA announced.

The two sides have extended rest coming before playing what's bound to be an entertaining Eastern Conference Finals.

The Knicks are from the Big Apple, the mecca of basketball, whereas the Pacers play in a prime basketball state, that being Indiana. The crowds will be rowdy. The teams will match up well. Good basketball is on the way.

Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and the Knicks have a legitimate shot at a title, too.

New York has a solid path with the remaining teams looking beatable after they took down the Celtics.
