Manchester United lost an 18th game of the Premier League season on Friday against Chelsea.
It was a game that meant very little for Manchester United, but nonetheless resulted in yet another league defeat in this worst-ever Premier League campaign.
While Spurs rotated heavily against Aston Villa, Ruben Amorim fielded a strong United team as he said he would, which made little difference to the utterly unremarkable game, with both teams struggling to carve out chances.
Ultimately, Chelsea won the game 1-0 thanks to a defensive blunder from United, which kept their hopes of a top-five finish alive.
There were few positives to take from the game, other than United avoided any new injuries. However, there were negatives with Rasmus Hojlund having an awful night up front for the Red Devils.
Many fans will be numb to the feeling of a loss after the woeful season, and that all eyes are on the Europa League final, but the records Amorim has broken are too bad to ignore.

Ruben Amorim breaks two records for Manchester United vs Chelsea
The head coach will be looking forward to seeing the end of this season, with the storm Amorim predicted going on longer than he would have ever expected.
Well, after losing to Chelsea, Amorim has now gone eight league games without picking up a win.

This is the first time since January 1990, under Sir Alex Ferguson, that United have gone on a run this bad. Eight will also likely become nine next weekend, with the Champions League chasing Aston Villa likely to turn over either a celebratory or saddened United side after the cup final.
This defeat to Chelsea also ensured that United would end the season without winning back-to-back games for the first time ever in the Premier League. This is an appalling record that should make Amorim seriously embarrassed, as should Erik ten Hag.

There is a general acceptance that this season domestically has been a write-off for months now, but there is no excuse for these statistics, and quite simply, Amorim must hit the ground running in August.
However, the 40-year-old has already signalled his confidence for next season.
Ruben Amorim makes a prediction for Manchester United’s 2025/26 season
The pressure is beginning to build around the fanbase on Amorim, and he really needs to win the Europa League and have a strong summer to see an immediate improvement next season.
Speaking to Sky Sports before the game even began, Amorim suggested he remains confident.
“People don’t understand how things are changing in Carrington, in our club, how many things are happening at the same time. Let’s finish this season, and then we’ll see.
“I’m saying I see good things and I know what I’m doing, that is a good thing. The board is doing everything, and sometimes it’s not the popular thing, but we know what to do. We are doing things during this season. It was tough, but let’s finish this season.”
Also on Sky ahead of the game, pundit Jamie Redknapp admitted that he has a feeling Amorim can turn things around.
“I never once believed that Erik ten Hag was the man who was really going to take the club forward. But for whatever reason, I look at him and I think he has something about him.”
