Jaylen Brown jabs at Knicks after elimination, talks offseason

Jaylen Brown said losing to the Knicks "feels like death," but insisted there's life and hope beyond this painful playoff exit.

The New York Knicks eliminated the Boston Celtics from the 2025 NBA Playoffs with a dominant 119-81 victory in Friday's Game 6, and Jaylen Brown is clearly unhappy about how his team's season ended.

"Losing to the Knicks feels like death," Brown said in the post-game conference. "But I was always taught that there's life after death."

Brown scored 20 points in the final game but fouled out in the third quarter.

"It just wasn't our year," he said simply.

"So we'll get ready for whatever's next," Brown added. "Whatever's next in the journey, I'll be ready for."

Boston played without Jayson Tatum, who suffered a ruptured Achilles in Game 4. His absence is a major "what-if" for the series and possibly for the Celtics' future, especially since they were defending champions.

Now, Boston is likely to part ways with several key players this offseason due to limited cap space. Still, Brown remains optimistic heading into the offseason.

"This journey's not the end. It's not the end for me," he noted. "You just take this with a chin up. I know Boston, it looks gloomy right now with JT being out, but there's a lot to look forward to, and I want the city to feel excited about that. This is not the end. I'm looking forward to what's next."

"Things didn't go our way this year, and it's unfortunate," Brown went on to say. "But we hold our heads up, regardless."

"I'm proud of our group. We fought. We were in a lot of battles."
