With the Premier League title secured, Liverpool can enjoy the last two games of the league season as the 2024/25 campaign comes to an end. For Arne Slot, preparations for a title defence next season are already underway.

With the summer transfer window just around the corner there will be a lot of work on potential comings and goings over the next few weeks and months. After what was a quiet window last year, this time around is expected to be different.

Liverpool have already been linked with several potential incomings. Jeremie Frimpong looks to be closing in on a move to Anfield.

It has also been confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will move on at the end of the season. Real Madrid are attempting to get a deal done early in time for the Club World Cup in the summer.

With all the talk about potential transfers over the summer, we’ve taken a look at some of the latest stories from in and around Anfield.

Florian Wirtz asking price

Interested clubs, including Liverpool, will need to pay a fee of €150million (£126m) if they wish to win the transfer race for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz this summer, according to reports.

As reported by the ECHO this week, the Reds are ready to go head to head with Manchester City and Bayern Munich for the German international. Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has claimed that Bayern are now preparing their first formal offer to Leverkusen, having agreed personal terms with the player.

However, it is said that an agreement between the two clubs is uncertain. It is later added that any offer in the €100million (£84m) region would be rejected, with Leverkusen looking for a fee of €150million (£126m).

Real Madrid are also mentioned as possible suitors - if Liverpool-linked Rodrigo is sold in time.

Dean Hujsen alternative

Liverpool have reportedly identified a potential alternative target for Dean Hujsen in the transfer window, with the Bournemouth centre-back looking set to join Real Madrid. The Reds were one of the teams credited with an interest in the Spain international, but look to have missed out.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool have dropped out the race for Hujsen, with the Reds reportedly responding by naming Ajax’s Jarrel Hato as another target the club could now turn to.

“Liverpool already left the conversation [for Huijsen] more than 24 hours ago because they understood that the player was giving total priority to Real Madrid,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

He then added: “Jorrel Hato is for sure in the list of Liverpool and Chelsea. Both clubs appreciate the player and have been monitoring him.”
