Wolves have been linked with several players before the transfer window even opens, and one position they’re looking to improve is striker.
Vitor Pereira currently has Jorgen Strand Larsen as his main focal point up top. The Norwegian has enjoyed an exceptional debut campaign with 13 goals to his name.
Unfortunately, the 25-year-old hasn’t had anyone truly rival him for a place in the starting lineup, seeing Goncalo Guedes fail to take his chance against Brighton and Hwang Hee-chan struggle all season.
There is a chance that Hwang and Guedes both exit Molineux this summer, leaving Wolves short in the striker department and needing to sign someone to rival Strand Larsen.
That could happen this summer as the Wanderers have been linked to one of their long-term targets from the Serie A.

Wolves are interested in signing Tammy Abraham
According to Calcio Mercato, West Ham are currently in pole position to sign AC Milan striker Tammy Abraham, but Wolves and Everton are both ‘strongly interested’ in clinching his signature.
We exclusively revealed in March that Abraham wants a Premier League transfer, though there were fears the towering centre-forward is ‘too similar’ to Strand Larsen.
The Roma star was once one of the most promising English attackers on the planet, but has lost his way in recent years.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Abraham has spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at AC Milan, where he’s netted just three goals in 29 Serie A appearances.
The 27-year-old will return to Roma in the summer, and since his contract there runs until the summer of 2027, the Italian giants may expect a sizeable fee for him.
Interestingly, Lorenzo Pellegrini said at the end of 2022 that Abraham ‘can become one of the best strikers in the world’, via FourFourTwo, telling of how highly-rated he is and why he can still fulfil his potential.
Abraham would be a solid rival to Jorgen Strand Larsen
Strand Larsen has scored six in his last seven games for Wolves, with fans leaving the stadium impressed after watching him clinically dispatch chances.
But as previously mentioned, the Norwegian international doesn’t have someone to directly rival and push to get the best out of him.
Abraham, who is similar in build to Strand Larsen, would arguably pose a threat to his place in the starting lineup, and that is exactly what he needs.
Further, Strand Larsen has been criticised for his hold-up play at times this season, failing to bring his teammates into the game.
That is one of the strongest traits Abraham possesses, as he’s able to pin defenders, and that is something Wolves could do with. So, as long as he’s attainable, a move for the Englishman could be a smart one to make.
