Everton could cut their wage bill by more than £32million as several first-team players are out of contract this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

David Moyes is expecting to be backed in the transfer market as he looks to improve his squad ahead of next season.

The Scottish manager returned to Goodison Park in January and has since led the Merseyside giants to Premier League safety.

Everton are preparing to make the move to their new stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock ahead of next season.

However, several players are currently set to be released once their contracts expire at the end of next month.

Asmir Begovic, Joao Virginia, Seamus Coleman, Ashley Young, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Neal Maupay are all out of contract on 30 June.

Everton could agree Calvert-Lewin deal

Doucoure is understood to be Everton’s highest earner as his deal is worth around £130,000 a week, while Gueye is on £120,000.

Calvert-Lewin is in talks over extending his contract, but as things stand, his £100,000-a-week deal will expire next month.

Keane is next on the list with a weekly salary of £80,000, while Coleman is on £55,000 and Maupay, who is on loan at Marseille, has a deal worth £50,000.

Young and Begovic rake in between £30,000-35,000 weekly, with Holgate banking £20,000 and Virginia on £7,500.

Sources have told Football Insider Everton could save around £32.9million if all 10 of those players were to leave the club next month.

However, finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Everton are likely to agree deals with several of their out-of-contract stars as they don’t have the budget to make multiple new signings.

Jack Harrison update emerges at Leeds

Football Insider revealed on 6 May Jack Harrison is unlikely to return to Leeds United next season despite their promotion to the Premier League.

Everton and Moyes are yet to decide whether to pursue a permanent move for the winger this summer.

The 28-year-old has spent two seasons on loan at Goodison following Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League in 2023.
