Bastian Schweinsteiger has called for Manchester United legends, including Wayne Rooney, to be handed roles within the club to help turn the tide at Old Trafford.

Manchester United's dominance of English football came under Ferguson. The club boasted a squad full of world-class stars, including Rooney, who suggested Amorim was naive a few months ago. There has been a glaring lack of leadership at Old Trafford in recent years, and the club's fall from grace has been remarkable.
Schweinsteiger was asked about the situation during an appearance on GIVEMESPORT's latest Market Madness podcast:
"I think personally that the club needs to have those former players in a high position, like what other clubs are also doing, involving those like Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs or Wayne Rooney. I think that's always an advantage if you have those kind of people up there."
Ferdinand, Giggs and Rooney were proven winners at United, winning five Premier League titles alongside one another. The three club legends have ventured into other work areas in their post-Old Trafford careers, including punditry and management.
Schweinsteiger, who spent a brief spell at United, feels that with over 1900 appearances between them, turning to these types of individuals could help turn things around:
"They have also experienced on the pitch what you need. To be on top is something different from just being good. And I think when you have those kind of characters, personalities up there, it would help the club. So maybe that could help the club get better and turn
it around."
