Leicester City loan man's future up for discussion after going head-to-head with parent club…

The future of Leicester City loan man Facundo Buonanotte is set to be decided with Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler saying talks will be held with the Argentina international in the coming weeks.

The 20-year-old forward has spent the season on loan at relegated Foxes and is set to go face-to-face with parent club team-mate Julio Enciso, who joined relegated Ipswich Town in January, when Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side take on the Tractor Boys at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

Buonanotte – who has six goals and four assists this term – started the season well under previous boss Steve Cooper but has struggled under the current head coach.

However, he got himself back in the headlines last week when he stepped off the bench to score the Foxes’ equalising goal in a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest to dent their East Midlands rivals' Champions League hopes.

Meanwhile, Enciso, 21, has made a positive impact with the Tractor Boys with two goals and three assists.

The duo’s futures beyond this weekend look uncertain, although home club boss Hurzeler appears ready to reassess their situations.

“Every player who has a contract with our club and who is on loan is a possible player for us,” he told Sussex World. “And we follow quite in detail the development from the loan players because I think it’s very important to give them attention.

“It doesn’t mean if they’re not here that we don’t try to work with them. So, we have two great loan managers who really take care of them. Really try to work with them and spend their time with them and I think it’s crucial for the development.

“And then it’s always about understanding which profile the loan player has and do we need this profile next season here?

“And we will have the discussions with these players as soon as possible. Some of them we will see here in the pre-season, some of them might get the chance to train with us and then we have to make decisions.”
