Everton are braced to leave Goodison Park as they move to their new home, Bramley-Moore Dock.
The move represents a defining moment in the Toffees’ history, having been at their current home since 1892.
As Everton prepare for the stadium switch, Darren Bent weighed in on the debate.

Bent addresses Everton stadium concern
Everton faced uncertainty earlier in the season when the Merseyside club struggled for form under Sean Dyche.
That, combined with the fact that the Toffees were moving to a larger stadium, caused concern in the North West.

However, the second coming of David Moyes has propelled the Premier League club up the table and clear of safety.
Position Club Played Points
13th Everton 36 42
14th Wolves 36 41
15th West Ham United 36 40
16th Manchester United 37 39
17th Tottenham Hotspur 37 38
Everton can finish above Man United and Spurs
With the 62-year-old at the helm, Everton can now look forward to their move as a fresh chapter in the club’s famous history.
However, concerns were raised live on air as talkSPORT host Ade Oladipo and Bent discussed the stadium switch (16 May, 5:13pm).
Oladipo said: “My main concern is how long it takes Everton fans to make it Goodison again.”
Bent replied: “You’ve got to start winning trophies.”

Bent trophy claims show no signs of bearing fruit
While Bent says Everton needs to start winning trophies, that is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
The Toffees are without a major trophy since lifting the FA Cup at the end of the 1994/95 season.
This year marks 30 years since that triumph, and the North West club have shown no signs of changing that.
For Everton, their most likely route to silverware would be a domestic cup competition, and they will earmark Crystal Palace’s success in the FA Cup this term.
However, thinking about silverware would be silly, given that Moyes’ side must settle into their new home first.
Everton are a huge club with a substantial fanbase, and they must make Bramley-Moore Dock a fortress.
With investment and stability, the Toffees can certainly build for a brighter future, but the trophies will have to wait.
