Bournemouth have confirmed that Dean Huijsen will join Real Madrid at the end of the season after the Spaniards activated the defender's £50m release clause The 20-year-old, who joined the Cherries from Juventus last summer, has been one of the breakout stars of the Premier League season, with his performances catching the eye of both Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Reds were one of several Premier League sides keeping tabs on the Spain international after it became apparent that he had a £50m release clause written into his contract on the South Coast. But despite interest from the Premier League champions, it is Real Madrid who have won the race for the highly-rated Huijsen.
On Saturday morning, Bournemouth confirmed that the 15-time European champions had triggered the release clause in the defender's contract, leaving him to complete the formalities of a move to the Spanish capital at the start of June.

The Cherries have also revealed that Huijsen will join Madrid once the Premier League season concludes later this month, making him eligible to feature in this summer's Club World Cup finals in the United States.
Madrid's first fixture in the revamped, 32-team tournament is against Al-Hilal on June 18. However, players must be registered by June 10 if they are to feature in the three group stage fixtures.
While a Real Madrid statement said: "Real Madrid C. F. and AFC Bournemouth have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dean Huijsen, who will be linked to our club for the next five seasons, from 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2030.

"At his 20 years of age, Dean Huijsen is already a Spain international and has played in Italy's Serie A with Juventus and Roma, and in the Premier League with Bournemouth. Dean Huijsen has been nominated for Premier League Young Player of the Year 2024-2025."
Huijsen's move to the Santiago Bernabeu is likely to see him link up with Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, who recently revealed that he would be leaving Anfield when his contract expires at the end of the season.
However, the England international looks set to miss out on Real Madrid's group stage fixtures against Al-Hilal, Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg after it was reported that Madrid have been unable to agree on a deal with Liverpool to release the defender from his contract early.
If that is to be the case, Alexander-Arnold's Real Madrid debut would be dependent on his side reaching the first knockout round on June 30 or July 1.
