Brotherhood Playoff Watch: Tatum-less Celtics Crushed By Knicks In Game 6

Boston’s win over New York in Game 5 was heroic but without former Duke star Jayson Tatum, who suffered an Achilles injury in Game 4 it was really just a question of time, and time ran out Friday night as the Knicks just crushed the Celtics, 119-81 in Game 6.

Tatum faces a long rehab that will go something like this:

* 0-6 weeks: immobilization phase.

* 6-12 weeks: early rehab

* 3-6 months: strength and mobility rehab

* 6-12 months - a gradual return to activity

He has apparently reached out to Kevin Durant for advice. Durant suffered a similar injury in 2019 and seems to have fully recovered.

In related news, there was a bit of a boomlet after Boston interviewed Cooper Flagg at the NBA Combine.

Really, it’s not a big deal - every team gets a certain number of interviews and Boston chose to burn one on Flagg.

However, some see it as a form of tampering since the Celtics don’t pick until #28 and only a massive trade could pull that off. Apparently some people also figure the Celtics are trying to convince Flagg to sign with them when he becomes a free agent. Seems a stretch.
