Nottingham Forest coach Nuno Espirito Santo has affirmed that Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi underwent a successful operation and is recovering well, Soccernet.ng reports.
News broke on Tuesday that Awoniyi was in an induced coma after an operation to correct a ruptured intestine. He sustained the injury under controversial circumstances during Nottingham Forest's 2-2 draw against Leicester City last weekend.
Nonetheless, it was eventually that the operation was successful and Awoniyi had woken up on Friday. Ahead of Nottingham Forest's game against West Ham on Sunday, coach Espirito shared updates concerning Awoniyi and how the situation is affecting the team.
