Marseille's star Mason Greenwood has expressed his desire to remain with the club for their upcoming Champions League campaign next season despite interest from the Premier League.
The former Manchester United forward has been linked with a shock move away from the French team. Greenwood has had a successful first season with the Ligue 1 side, netting 19 goals in France's premier division.
Greenwood was snapped up by Marseille for approximately £26million last summer following a one-year loan stint with La Liga outfit Getafe. His move came after he found himself sidelined from the United squad amidst allegations of attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour levelled against him.
However, these charges were dismissed by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023.
The 23 year old striker has since been striving to rebuild his career and has largely been triumphant in France due to his goal-scoring prowess. His efforts have helped the team secure a spot in the Champions League next season as they are on the verge of finishing 2nd, just behind rivals PSG, reports the Mirror.
Recent speculation suggested that Greenwood was "yearning" for a return to the Premier League, with two unnamed clubs considering a move for the England international.
However, Greenwood himself has asserted that he is content in France and feels "at home" in Marseille. During a press conference, he stated his intention to compete in Europe's top-tier competition alongside his team-mates next season.

Greenwood, in a rare press conference appearance, expressed his desire to stay with the club, stating: "I hope to be here next year for the Champions League. All the other players tell me that the stadium is something special. I think it's been a very positive season, we've reached our objective."
He further shared his personal connection with the city, saying: "I feel at home here. I recently had a baby here with my girlfriend. Not a lot of people get to experience that kind of thing here and with all my teammates and coaches I would like to thank them all."
The Telegraph has reported that insiders at Marseille are open to the possibility of Greenwood being transferred within the next two seasons.
Despite Greenwood's impressive goal-scoring record, he has drawn criticism from fans and manager Roberto De Zerbi for his work rate. Rumours have circulated that team-mate Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg requested his removal from the squad, and De Zerbi has previously stated his expectations of the player.
De Zerbi earlier this year said: "No one can have more respect for him than I do. But that doesn't change anything: I expect more from him. He has to do more, because what he is currently showing is not enough."
He added: "If he wants to achieve his ambition of becoming a champion, he has to be more consistent, sacrifice more and be more determined."
