Giorgi Mamardashvili will reportedly look to go out on loan next season if he isn't able to compete with Alisson Becker for the No.1 spot at Liverpool. Mamardashvili’s £29 million move from Valencia to Anfield was agreed last summer, but the Georgian has spent the season back in LaLiga.

He has kept eight clean sheets in 32 matches in La Liga so far this season and has been instrumental in his side's up-turn in form since Carlos Corberan arrived as the club's new head coach. Mamardashvili now has just two more matches in a Valencia shirt before his move to Merseyside.

But according to Spanish publication Relevo, Mamardashvili's expectation is to compete with Alisson for the No.1 spot, but his idea is to leave on loan to the Premier League if that doesn't prove to be the case.

Speaking to ESPN Brasil last month, Liverpool goalkeeping coach Claudio Taffarel assessed the club's situation in the goalkeeping department and remained his belief that Alisson will remain as first-choice next season.

"The club made that decision [to sign Mamardashvili], I think a year ago, a year and a bit ago,” he said. "This purchase of this young player, maybe a little for the future.

"But Alisson is a guy who is at a very high level. And even at his age, with his experience, with his desire, it will be very difficult for someone to come here and replace him, right?"

Alisson has received interest from Saudi Arabia and there is some question marks over his long-term future, though Taffarel is confident the ex-Roma man is keen to remain at Anfield.

"He wants to continue living this story," Taffarel said of Alisson. I saw that this wave of Saudi Arabia came with great opportunities, very high offers, but he always says: 'Wow, I want to continue this story, because I owe a lot to them here, and I want to continue this life here'."
