Everton have announced that Ashley Young will leave Goodison Park once his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 39-year-old joined the Toffees as a free agent in 2023 and will end his two-year stint in the coming weeks.
David Moyes hasn’t relied on Young much since taking over from Sean Dyche, and it isn’t surprising to see him leave.
Jake O’Brien has been the go-to right-back at Goodison Park under the Scottish manager, and now the former Manchester United star has decided whether to retire.

It’s been claimed that the 39-year-old’s representatives have been approached by clubs in England and abroad.
The Englishman has contributed immensely to the Merseyside outfit’s prospects of avoiding relegation in recent seasons and will be remembered fondly by the Goodison Park faithful.
Moyes must demand defensive transfers from the Friedkins
Michael Keane’s current contract at Goodison Park expires at the end of the campaign, leaving his future uncertain.
Moyes has been without James Tarkowski in recent matches after the centre-back picked up an injury, and the Toffees’ defensive frailties have been highlighted since then.
The Scottish manager has deployed O’Brien at right back to good effect, but the 24-year-old is a natural central defender.
Nathan Patterson has failed to fulfil his potential at Everton, and his exit in the upcoming transfer window could potentially be on the cards.
Moyes wants to keep Seamus Coleman, but it will be interesting to see in what capacity the injury-stricken Irishman continues at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The Friedkin Group (TFG) should sign a new right-back at the Toffees as it looks like an evident priority for them.
A new backup left-back must also be on the Friedkins’ agenda, considering Young provided cover in the absence of Vitalii Mykolenko.
As for the 39-year-old, his next move will be one to keep an eye on.
