Newcastle United have been linked with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko will reportedly decide his future after their game against Stuttgart today.
Newcastle United are one of several Premier League clubs linked with the Slovak international. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have also kept tabs on Sesko as they plan to reshuffle their No.9 options this summer.
While the Magpies may look to target a striker this summer, it is understood Sesko would be out of their price bracket. Alexander Isak is the undisputed first-choice at St James’ Park, with Will Osula and Callum Wilson as backup.
Chances of Benjamin Sesko joining Newcastle United ‘slim’
The latter’s future remains unknown as he enters the final weeks of his Toon contract after an underwhelming campaign. But a £60million price tag set by Leipzig means the chances of Sesko joining Newcastle are slim.
Sky Sports also report that Newcastle interest has cooled despite Eddie Howe and Co closing in on a Champions League spot. Isak’s status as the main man on Tyneside makes Sesko a better fit elsewhere.
Sesko to decide RB Leipzig future as early as next week
The same outlet claims Sesko will give an update on his future at the end of the campaign. Leipzig’s season ends today with a home clash to Stuttgart with European football on the line.
Champions League qualification is out of reach but they must better Mainz’s result on the final day to secure a Europa League spot. Sesko - who penned a contract until 2029 last summer - has a verbal agreement with Leipzig to be allowed to leave if a fair offer comes along.

Benjamin Sesko’s agent responded to transfer talk
His agent, Elvis Basanovic, appeared to put his client in the shop window to Slovenian media earlier this season. He said: "I think you should ask Mr Arteta about that. But I think Sesko could suit many clubs because he has different football skills.
"He can play alone in attack, with two strikers, a little further back, he has height, speed, technical speed. Benjamin Sesko is really shining, I think this is a phase of development.
"I think we have already shown in the past that we are sticking to the development path, that we are not looking at current form. Our decision regarding the next step, the transfer, has never and will not stem from current form, but from who can offer Sesko the best platform for his development.
"We can see that our decision was correct, six months later he is already a better striker than he was last season. What he lacks is experience. We must not forget that he is only 21 years old, so we did not want him to go to the Premier League in the summer. There were concrete options, but we consciously decided to stay in the Bundesliga to give him time to progress and develop into a better striker."
