After City’s 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the FA Youth Cup final earlier in the month, the two sides met again at Villa Park for the final game of the 2024/25 season.
And it was clear the North and South Under-18 Premier League regional title winners had learnt a lot about each other in that game with both finding it much more difficult to find the next in the first half.

In the second half, both teams continued to show glimpses of breaking the deadlock but it would finally fall Villa’s way on 75 minutes.
Leon Routh tapped home from close range and it would prove to be the decisive factor as Villa held strong against the City storm for the remainder of the match.
