Bruno Guimaraes issues an update on his Newcastle United ‘future’ amid Manchester City interest

Bruno Guimaraes has made it crystal clear to Newcastle United fans where his future lies amid reports he could leave the club.

The Magpies’ captain has been one of the big difference-makers at the club this season, helping them win their first trophy since 1969 and playing his part in a brilliant Premier League campaign which looks destined for Champions League qualification.

Although not the best player a Newcastle United this season, Bruno Guimaraes has been a key figure in a midfield three that has looked immovable at times.

Eddie Howe named Guimaraes as the Newcastle captain this season after the Brazilian requested to be more involved in matchday proceedings for the 2024/25 campaign. Succeeding Kieran Trippier, Howe’s decision has paid off this campaign.

Reports in 2025 have suggested that Guimaraes could sign for Manchester City this summer, with new sporting director and former Newcastle star Hugo Viana looking to break Geordie hearts once again.

Now, Guimaraes has commented on his future at the club and what Newcastle means to him.
