Arsenal and Manchester United could be battling it out to sign Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres in the summer transfer window - and Fabrizio Romano has revealed in his GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter that the Premier League duo will seek clarity on their chances of signing him in the next few days, once Sporting's season comes to an end.
The Lisbon-based outfit will win the league if they beat Vitoria Guimaraes on the final day of the campaign, as long as Benfica don't better their result by five goals, and with the Portuguese Cup final against their local rivals coming the week after, that will signal the end of their campaign.

Gyokeres' future appears to be away from Portugal, with Arsenal, United and more having been linked with his services in recent months. That is likely to spark a chase for his services in the coming weeks, and with both Arsenal and United needing a new talisman in the summer transfer window, he's high on their list.

Romano, writing in his GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter, has stated that interest remains from Arsenal and United - though they'll be made to wait until the end of next week with Sporting's upcoming fixtures and then the chase will continue for his services.
"Interest remains from Arsenal and Man United, but it will be clear in the next days as Viktor remains focused on Sporting until the end of the season."
Gyokeres has had an outstanding season, scoring 38 goals in just 32 games in the Primeira Liga alongside six Champions League goals in eight outings, despite crashing out in the league phase.
A hat-trick against Manchester City in Europe, alongside three separate hat-tricks and two four-goal hauls in the league has seen him had arguably the best campaign possible of any European striker - leading to him being called the 'best striker in the world' as a result of his efforts.
The former Brighton striker has an overall record of 95 goals in just 100 games for the club, and having been under Ruben Amorim at Sporting earlier in the campaign, he'd know exactly how to fit into the Portuguese gaffer's system - whilst Mikel Arteta is in need of a clinical goalscorer having struggled to put the ball in the net over the past few months.
