Pep Guardiola took issue with Dean Henderson

Pep Guardiola and Dean Henderson had to be pulled apart following a heated exchange after the final whistle as Crystal Palace's FA Cup celebrations angered the Manchester City boss.

Henderson, 28, was the star in Palace's Wembley triumph, pulling off a penalty save and numerous vital stops to secure a 1-0 victory over City, thanks to an early strike from Eberechi Eze.

However, the England keeper might have considered himself lucky to remain on the field after handling the ball outside his box earlier in the match, but he avoided a sending-off even after VAR intervention.

Guardiola seemed incensed by the decision post-match and confronted the Palace shot-stopper, apparently irate over time-wasting tactics. As Henderson headed towards the centre circle to join his teammates' jubilations, the City manager was seen gesturing at him with a pointed finger.

Words were exchanged between the two before Palace's coaching staff intervened. Palace's backup keeper Matt Turner ushered Guardiola away while Eagles boss Oliver Glasner restrained Henderson.

Fans on social media hit out at Guardiola as a "sore loser" and a "bad loser".

Henderson later disclosed to ITV his side of the story: "I just went to shake his hand, but he was disappointed by the time wasting," he said. "But no hard feelings."

In a BBC interview, the former Manchester United player expressed his elation: "It's incredible, we had a feeling it'd be our day today, we executed the gameplan, we deserve this so much..

"Haaland might've stepped up, I didn't know which way he'd go, but Marmoush, I knew which way he was going. I knew I would save it. The ball carried into my box, I knew I was fine, it held up as it was a bit dry, it doesn't matter, who cares?".
