Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert will have plenty on his mind other than basketball as he leads his team into the Western Conference Finals. The 32-year-old Frenchman reportedly cut ties with girlfriend Julia Bonilla, who is pregnant with the former couple’s second child, kicking her and their 1-year-old child out of his home.
“I considered Rudy the love of my life,” Bonilla said, according to TMZ. “I left everything for him, I gave him a child and poured my heart into our relationship.
“Despite how I have been treated, I choose to protect his name for the sake of my children,” adding that she has “NEVER EVER been unfaithful to the father of my children.”
Bonilla was last seen at the Timberwolves’ final regular season game on April 13 along with she and Gobert’s 1-year-old son, Romeo.
Gobert confirmed the breakup, stating that he intends to “keep supporting the well-being of all the people that I care about.” But he did not state what the cause of the split was.
On the court, Gobert has been a stalwart for the Timberwolves. He’s averaging just 8.9 points for Minnesota, but also 9.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks as the anchor of one of the league’s best defenses.

Bonilla, meanwhile, has been a fervent defender of her now ex. She spoke out a year ago after he was named the NBA’s most-overrated player.
“My partner is the most dedicated, focused, hard-working person I have ever met,” she wrote. “He hasn’t stolen anything from anyone and deserves all the respect for his determination and commitment to his career.
“It’s hard for me to stay quiet in front of so much stupidity, disrespect, and nonsense. I am so proud of the person he is — fair, a great teammate, with a good heart and a strong mind.”
She may soon be signing a different tune however with the two set to go their separate ways.
