Newcastle United could be set for a big summer.
While there is still a lot to play for during the final two games of the season for Newcastle United, excitement is building ahead of the opening of the transfer window.
Indeed, Newcastle insiders think they can spend money this summer, having seemingly come through the very worst of their problems with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Newcastle want to sign at least three first-team players this summer, which would no doubt prove a welcome relief for Eddie Howe.
The Newcastle United manager hasn’t seen his squad strengthened to any meaningful degree since the summer of 2023. Now, however, that could change with both PIF and club chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan impressed.

How PIF really feel about Eddie Howe at Newcastle United
According to The Chronicle, the Newcastle United owners have been thrilled by the performances of Howe’s side this season.
Newcastle won the Carabao Cup in March and are on the cusp of adding to that by qualifying for the Champions League.
Al-Rumayyan is reportedly ready to give the go-ahead to get ‘phase two’ of the PIF era underway and it’s said as much as £150million could be spent on new players this summer.
It remains to be seen what happens if Newcastle don’t reach the Champions League but, either way, it seems there are big plans ahead.
