Rangers could be due to face Crystal Palace in European competition next season for the first time ever.
Off the back of their controversial 2-2 draw away to Hibernian on Saturday afternoon, Rangers will now turn their full focus to the summer transfer window.
Those of a Light Blue persuasion will be delighted to get this campaign over and done with, though the Gers will have some serious work to do in the coming months if they are to avoid replicating this season’s shortcomings.
With another season of European competition in line, recruitment at Ibrox is going to be crucial to their chances of success, and throughout that run, they may have to find a way to overcome Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace secure European football next season
Rangers enjoyed an excellent run in the Europa League this season under Barry Ferguson, and they may be set to compete within that competition once again next time out.

The Light Blues will enter the qualifying rounds of the Champions League, just as they did this season, but a failure to progress will see them drop into the Europa League, where Stan Collymore has mooted the possibility of an encounter with Crystal Palace.

Oliver Glasner’s side made history on Saturday afternoon, beating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final to win their first major trophy since the club was formed 120 years ago.
FA Cup winners automatically qualify for the league stage of the competition, and Collymore presented a “taster” group via X that the Eagles may face, and Rangers are on the list, alongside the likes of Roma and Fenerbahce, who the Gers progressed past in this year’s Europa League.

Rangers have a huge summer ahead
The Gers will want to go one step further in Europe next season, though they will also be keen on putting up much more of a fight domestically.
Ending a season without silverware is a sign of failure in Glasgow, and to prevent that from happening again in the new campaign, Rangers have some big decisions to make.
It is imperative that the Gers get their manager situation sorted as a matter of urgency, with Davide Ancelotti still the front runner for the job at Ibrox, with recruitment also set to play a huge role in deciding where the Light Blues go next.
