Casemiro could be set for a significant pay rise if Manchester United win the Europa League this season.
Man United are set to face Tottenham in the Europa League final on 21 May, with the winner securing Champions League football for next season.
Casemiro has emerged as a key player for Ruben Amorim’s side in Europe in recent weeks, having got on the scoresheet in both legs of their semi-final victory over Athletic Bilbao.
The Daily Star reported on 3 May Casemiro will receive a 25 per cent pay rise if United qualify for the Champions League, meaning his wages could reach as high as £500,000 a week.
However, former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider it’s unlikely the Brazil international’s weekly wage will increase to those levels.
The 33-year-old, who signed from Real Madrid in a £70million deal in 2022, is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2026.

Casemiro could agree Saudi deal
Borson insisted Casemiro would likely be interested in a move to Saudi if he has no future at Old Trafford.
He told Football Insider: “I doubt it’s up to £500,000, but we know that a lot of the United players have got roughly 20 per cent switches between Champions League seasons and non-Champions League seasons.
“They may have switches between European seasons and non-European seasons. Remember, if they lose the Europa League final, obviously they are not in Europe at all, so you may actually find that all of the wages drop again.
“But of course, a lot of revenue is going to come out, so they’re going to lose the Adidas money, and they’ll lose all of the European prize money. They will also lose 10 to 15 matches from European competition next season, so the whole diary will free up.
“They will probably fill it with some friendlies, and they’ll compensate a little bit. I think also you have to say that, if they had no European football at all, they would have a better chance of succeeding in the league.
“We have seen that many times. It does have a benefit. It’s not all one way, but on Casemiro, whether it’s for let’s say £400,000 a week or even if it’s £300,000 a week, we still know they want him out.
“He’s actually done relatively well in the second half of the season, but it’s the same as Grealish at City in that they want him out. But there are limited homes for a player that’s on that kind of money.
“Again, it comes down to Saudi. I suspect Casemiro would be more interested in going to Saudi than the likes of Grealish.
“But Saudi has had opportunities to buy Casemiro now for at least two windows, and they’ve chosen not to. So, I don’t know how interested they are. I think that still feels like the most likely deal.
“But again, the other option is that United subsidise the deal by paying half his wages somewhere else or even more.”

Man United told Antoine Semenyo price tag

United have emerged from the pack in the race to sign Semenyo following interest from Newcastle United and Arsenal.
The Ghana international has been a standout player for Andoni Iraola‘s side this season as they look to qualify for European football for the first time.
