After potentially bringing an end to local rivals Nottingham Forest’s Champions League dreams, Leicester’s attention turns to Ipswich. On what is promising to be an emotional day at the King Power Stadium, Jamie Vardy will play his final ever game for Leicester City. 13 years, 500 appearances, 200 goals, and it all ends this Sunday. Here is Leicester’s predicted lineup as they take on Kiernan McKenna’s Ipswich.
Leicester Predicted Lineup vs Ipswich Town for Premier League Clash
How Leicester Have Lined Up Recently
At the City Ground, Ruud van Nistelrooy continued to use his 4-2-3-1 system, which helped the Foxes to a major result in affecting the top-five race. Jakub Stolarczyk made his second consecutive start in between the sticks due to Mads Hermansen’s injury.Conor Coady and Wout Faes then formed a centre-back partnership, with Coady scoring his first Premier League goal in royal blue. Academy graduate Luke Thomas started on the left as he continues his run of form. Meanwhile, James Justin started from the right flank as January signing Woyo Coulibaly remained sidelined.

In the pivot, Wilfred Ndidi and Oliver Skipp formed a trio, before Boubakary Soumaré replaced the former Tottenham man on the hour mark. Off the left, Bilal El Khannouss was ever present as always, whilst Kasey McAteer and Jordan Ayew also helped prop up the frontline. Leading the line was Jamie Vardy, who played his last ever away game for the Foxes.
Leicester’s Recent Form And Tactics
In a game that meant nothing to the Foxes, but so much for the home side, Leicester managed to earn a draw. In the opening minutes of the derby day clash, Forest looked threatening but couldn’t manage to find the back of the net. Despite this, it was the visitors who found the net first as a Coady header sparked excitement in the away end.
This, however, was short-lived as Morgan Gibbs-White was able to equalise just nine minutes later. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would then continue to plug away, looking for the lead, which they earned through Chris Wood. The former Leicester player scored his 20th goal of the season, an all-time high for the New Zealand International.

Although Leicester had little to play for outside of bragging rights, they would fight back in the last 15 minutes of the game. Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte eventually found the leveler after coming off the bench for Jordan Ayew. The scoreline would remain the same, but this doesn’t paint the full picture as both sides threatened to find a winner. 15-year-old Jeremy Monga even had a chance to take all three points, but Matz Sels was able to prevent the strike.
The East Midlands side now look ahead to their final home game of the season against the Tractor Boys. A last-ever Vardy goal against the Suffolk-based side would be the perfect end to his fairytale career in a game that has little meaning in terms of the table.
Leicester City Injuries to Consider
As revealed by theDutchman, there are no new injuries to his squad. As part of the recent injury crisis, Hermansen, Mavididi, and others have been confirmed to be missing the last games of the season. Despite this, one positive to come from the press conference is that Ricardo Pereira may be fit to play in Vardy’s last ever goal.
