Tomas Soucek has already delivered Vladimir Coufal verdict amid Leeds United transfer talk

Tomas Soucek believes Vladimir Coufal will be a "big miss" for West Ham United amid speculation linking him with a summer move to Leeds United.

Experienced right-back Coufal will leave the Premier League club at the end of June when his contract expires. The 32-year-old, widely considered a Hammers legend, has played 177 times for the club since arriving in a £5.4m deal from Slavia Prague in 2020.

Top flight new boys Leeds and Everton are among the clubs reportedly tracking Coufal. Soucek, who is also said to be on the Whites' transfer radar heading into the summer window, will be keeping a close eye on where his Czech compatriot ends up.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Soucek said: “I’ll be asking him [Coufal[ to tell me first where he’s going! It’ll be a big miss for me, and the club as well. It’ll be tough not to see him every day, but that’s football.”

It remains to be seen whether Fulham will revive their interest in Coufal. The Cottagers tried to sign him in the winter transfer window.

Coufal has already made it clear he wants to remain in England. His son, Niclas, is currently on West Ham's academy books. On the Hammers not sanctioning his move to Fulham, he said: “As for Fulham, I would stay in the Premier League and even in London. We really like it there. My son has started playing in the West Ham academy and is doing better than I expected. My daughter will be going to school next year. How do I explain to them that we are moving to a completely different place?"
