Man United are set for a major summer overhaul. They are already monitoring some big names in transfer market. They have eye on 22 year old striker who is being told not to join them by former England international.
Manchester United are having one of their toughest seasons in Premier League history. They are currently on 16th position in points table. Hence, some big changes are expected to happen this summer. Ruben Amorim will be backed to bring in players of his choice.
The Portugese boss wants to resolve the goal-scoring crisis as soon as possible. He is willing to sell both Zirkzee and Hojlund to welcome a new striker. The Red Devils are being linked with multiple big names across whole Europe. One of their top target is Liam Delap.
Liam Delap told not to join Man United this summer
Liam Delap has been in superb form this season. He has scored 12 goals and picked 2 assists in Premier League for Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys are having a tough season due to which Delap’s importance has increased.
Delap can take his stats to whole different level with bigger club. As Ipswich have already been relegated, his £30 million release clause is now activated. Man United are amongst the multiple clubs keen to sign Delap but Gabriel Agbonlahor has told Delap to opt against joining United this summer.
“If I was him, I wouldn’t be going there. I wouldn’t stay at Ipswich, I’d go at West Ham, go and prove yourself at West Ham, the next step. They need a striker, Evan Ferguson will go back to Brighton, it hasn’t worked out” – Agbonlahor speaking to talkSPORT.
Firstly, Delap will have a great chance to prove himself on higher stage if he joins United. The Red Devils are one of the biggest clubs in the world. But, Agbonlahor has also been stating some truth with his comments.
Man players have failed to establish himself at United in recent years. In addition, joining a top club will bring in more pressure upon Delap. Lastly, the Red Devils can’t guarantee him regular minutes as they are willing to sign a more proven striker too.
