This was the Blues’ third successive appearance in the FA Cup final, with the previous two seeing us face Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola’s men ran out 2-1 winners in the 2023 showpiece, but were looking to reclaim the trophy after defeat by the same margin in last year’s final.
Standing in our way were a Palace side looking to win the FA Cup for the first time in their history, having most recently reached the final back in 2016.
This was also the third meeting between the sides this season, with a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park followed up by a 5-2 triumph for City at the Etihad Stadium.
