Villa News Speaking to Bryan King

Emiliano Martínez’s future at Aston Villa remains up in the air ahead of the summer.
Aston Villa will play European football for a third consecutive season next year and still have a chance to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
However, that doesn’t mean it will be a smooth summer in the West Midlands. To avoid breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, Villa need to make at least one significant sale before 30 June [Daily Mail].
Ollie Watkins has been linked with a Villa exit in recent months, as has Morgan Rogers. However, it appears Martínez could be the big-name star on the move this summer.

Martínez waves goodbye at Villa Park after win v Tottenham
Unai Emery’s side recorded a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in their final Premier League match at Villa Park this season on Friday (16 May).
After full-time, Martínez could be seen in tears and appeared to wave goodbye to the Villa supporters before leaving the pitch.

While many believe that this suggests the win over Tottenham was the 32-year-old’s final game at Villa Park, Andy Dunn has suggested Martínez will remain at Aston Villa.
However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – isn’t interested in whether the goalkeeper stays or goes after his actions at full-time against Tottenham.
“What a load of nonsense,” King said.
“There are three main players Villa could get big money for, and he is one of them. One of those players needs to be sold, and it could be one of three.
“But, to walk around crying? Grow up. We don’t know if that is going to be his final game at Villa Park. Three players could be sold to fix the financial issues we’re talking Watkins, Rogers and Martínez.
“He is on big money, and if the club want to sell him, he will earn big money somewhere else. I certainly wouldn’t shed a tear for him if he left. I wouldn’t be interested if he stays or goes. If that is his attitude, and he wants to leave, he can leave.
“Walking around the pitch crying? Hard luck. Give him a handkerchief.”

Aston Villa might struggle to replace Martínez
Martínez has been a key player for Emery at Aston Villa.
The World Cup winner has played a massive part in the Villans’ rise in recent seasons. However, it looks as though someone needs to be sold this summer, and it might well be Martínez.
As a result, Villa might need to replace the shot-stopper, which certainly won’t be easy.
