Leeds United target shares 'difficult' exit message as two transfer options emerge

Leeds United-linked Vladimir Coufal has sent an emotional message ahead of his final home game for West Ham on Sunday.

The veteran right-back is attracting plenty of interest ahead of the summer transfer window, with Leeds and Everton reportedly among the clubs interested in him. Coufal will leave the Hammers at the end of next month.

TalkSPORT report that Toffees manager David Moyes is a great admirer of Coufal, having worked closely with the Czech Republic international at the London club. Meanwhile, the Whites are thought to be eager to bolster their first team squad with more Premier League experience.

Hammers legend Coufal has made 178 appearances for the club since his £5.4m transfer from Slavia Prague in 2020. The talkSPORT report also suggests that Fulham might renew their interest in the player.

The Cottagers reportedly had several bids for Coufal turned down on the final day of the winter transfer window.

With his next move uncertain, the defender has written a letter on the club's website ahead of their league fixture at home to Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon in what is set to be an emotional occasion.

"Dear West Ham family, it is a very sad moment for me because I am leaving something that I love so much and I was afraid of this day since I started to feel that it is coming," he said.

"I knew that once this time would come but I could not even imagine how emotional it would be for me and my family. Now it is here and my time in this Club has come to the end.

"It is so difficult to find the right words and express how happy I am that I could be part of this beautiful Football Club. I came here five years ago and didn’t know what to expect – a new country, new league, new life.

"I can say with all honesty in my heart that I enjoyed every minute of being at West Ham and wearing the Claret and Blue shirt was always the biggest honour for me. I tried to represent these colours off the pitch in the best possible way and always left my best I could on the pitch.

"We brought the European trophy back to East London after many year which was absolutely incredible. I am taking a lot of unforgettable memories with me and will never forget how it is to be part of West Ham.

"I will always be a fan of this Club and will come back to London Stadium to cheer for these colours. Now it is time for a new chapter.

"It is time to say goodbye. Tomorrow I will play at London Stadium for the last time. I will be forever blowing bubbles till I fade and die. Thank you for everything."
